Indo-Pak Cricket diplomacy

I don’t get the diplomacy behind MMS inviting Gilani for cricket match at Mohali. For heaven’s sake, this match is not a bollywood hit! One of the 2 will look like a loser at the end of the day and will have to bear embarrassment. Even the smiling hand-shake photo will be used by section of domestic medias to show how weak their leaders are.

So how is this good diplomacy?Or have I misread the intent?
